Social media & marketing volunteer role description

We have an exciting opportunity for a volunteer to help manage our marketing and online presence. If you have great marketing skills and want to make a difference in your local community, we want to hear from you! Volunteer activities will include: 


  • Managing LSR social media, including its connections with partners and local organisations.

  • Developing promotional and publicity materials for groups as required, including obtaining photographs.

  • Participating in regular liaison meetings.

  • Supporting LSR website content.

Personal development and training opportunities:

Volunteer(s) will be supported to: 

  • Meet new people and engage with your local community.

  • Learn more about marketing while putting your skills into practice. 

  • Enhance your digital communications and social media abilities.

  • Better your writing skills crafting social media posts.

  • Build confidence and creativity in a supportive environment.

  • Take part in appropriate training. 

  • Gain sought after experience which could support a personal statement or resume.

When and where:

Hours worked are flexible, and to be agreed; apart from in-person team meetings you can work from home.

  • Organised, with an eye for detail

  • A creative person with good writing and digital skills

  • An interest and / or experience in social media and marketing

  • Confident in using different social media platforms, including Facebook and Twitter 

  • Friendly and enjoy working with people

  • Happy to complete GDPR training and adhere to data protection guidelines
